The High Sierra have some of the most beautiful scenery in the world. This idyllic alpine valley came to life during a powerful summer storm. It was downpouring so hard by the time I got back to camp that I packed up and drove all night to get back home

Another cold winter evening hiking the Big Sur coastline. I came on this enclave of rocks that would channel the crashing waves into a steady eb and flow rhythm. This is a 30 second exposure of three separate waves crashing and receding.

I woke extra early for a long drive and hike in the dark before sunrise. I call this photo "Wish You Were Here" cause the person travelling with me opted to not come. I ran out of gas on the way back and was stranded in the remote Canadian countryside.

One of the epic views in Canyonlands National Park. I was on the edge of an 1100 foot sheer cliff taking this photo of a sublime sunset. The color was extra vivid from three previous weeks of heavy rains that soaked the porous desert earth below.

Sunrise photo taken from the 10th highest bridge in the U.S. 565 feet above the Rio Grande river. This photo was taken during a very wet spring season. Amazing how lush the gorge looked at that time.
